1) ...When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans (29/Aug/2005 - 30/Aug/2005):
I was preparing my wedding at that time (which finally happened on Oct 8th, 2005). I was also beginning the last subject of my bachelor's degree. It was quite a year for me!
2) ...When most of the world celebrated thinking that a new Millennium had started (and then waited a whole year for that to effectively happen) (01/Jan/2000):
hmmm... I have to go a little far to tell this story.
My grandma (my german Oma, remember?) was married to my biological grandfather (Brian) who was english. They had my mom and my uncle, and after a couple of years they split up (big deal back then!!), so he left Argentina to "go see the world". First back to England and afterwards, who knows!
Thing is, I never knew about him before I was 12 and the man I knew as my grandfather was my grandma's second husband (though I consider HIM to be my real grandfather).
Still, Brian got in touch with my mom a few years before "the millenium" and he decided to come to meet us that day.
We were vacationing in Punta del Este, Uruguay and he joined us there.
So it was a freaky new year's.... the millenium + unknown grandfather
3) ...When Seinfeld aired its final episode (which, by the way, was the same day Frank Sinatra died) (14/May/1998):
I was just starting the university!. It was a week filled with tests and I remember it because I absolutely lost it that week... I thought at that time I'd never finish the carreer like that!
Regarding Seinfeld, I never saw the show until 2002 when I started to watch the re-runs in Sony Entertainment Television, here... after that, I became a huge fan and now we have all the dvd's that are available!!
